Are you “the one” to do it?
W R I T T E N B Y Allison Mondel
When I was training to become a musician, all I ever wanted was to become the best singer I could be.
I somehow inherited the belief that if you could be the “best,” then you had a decent chance of rising to the top of the single, invisible ladder that everyone was trying to scramble up on the way to a successful music career.
If my voice was “good enough,” I would be deemed successful. But if someone else had experienced major success, it somehow came at my expense. And then what hope was left there for me? 😩
It happens all the time, in almost every professional arena. Music. Theater. Dance. Art. Sports. Academia. Religion. Business. Etc.
Yet, this “single ladder success system” is a dangerous model.
You endlessly compare yourself to others, breeding either an inferiority or superiority complex, setting yourself up for disappointment, and ultimately, holding yourself back from what is truly important to you.
Let’s consider a more enlightened model of success…
What if you are climbing your own, precious ladder to personal success?
An ascending pathway that leads you to discover and integrate the inherent gifts, inspired ideas, and unique talents that only you have.
A journey that, if you remain steadfast, will yield the fruits of a most beautiful life and career? And that, ultimately, be aligned with the singular purpose that only YOU have been charged with.
Which, in a nutshell, means you are, in fact, the one for the job.
I recommend you re-assert your focus on the pathway that is only laid out for you. Then keep climbing…
Guided Prompts for Personal Success
Take a moment to breathe, center awareness within the heart space, and enter into a state of stillness. Allow these questions to guide your higher mind into clarity.
Consider your own, unique pathway of success (in whatever field is relevant for you).
What does that look like? How does that feel?
How have you been unconsciously comparing yourself to others?
How are you being guided to climb higher in your own, unique way?
What is the one thing you can do today to honor your own pathway to success?
Prayer for Personal Success
Dear Creator, I call forth my desire to lead a beautiful, rich, and inspired life.
May my work be blessed, as it unfolds with clarity and grace in greater service to the world.
May my mind be free of the binds that keep me held back in fear.
May I embrace love.
May I honor my own, singular pathway, as I honor the pathway of all other beings.
May my every step be blessed, and guided towards fulfillment of my higher purpose.
May my works be infused with Divine Love.
Make me ready to rise into the unique purpose you have set forth for me.
May I receive clarity, confidence, and steadfast courage on the path to my personal success.
May I be lit with an inner fire that fuels every step towards my ascension.
And so it is. Amen.
