Leading in your own life
Leadership is a term that implies some kind of role, or top-tier position, or a person stepping into the spotlight to take charge.
But I believe that true leadership, if understood at the personal level, is about how we courageously step forward in our art, and in our lives.
Dear One, how do you lead in your own life? In your art? With your creativity? In your career? With your voice?
Does that seem intimidating, or exciting, or woeful?
Is there something that has been nagging at you, a sense of something that is ready to be nurtured and brought into the light?
Or do you feel that there is something larger, a force that emanates from deeper within that whispers: I am here, waiting for you whenever you call me forth…
In my experience, whenever I heed this call (because my heart will simply not let go!), the steps towards fulfillment of that desire appear before me, leading me forward.
I am being led, because I chose to lead.
(It is also my experience that my inner resistance feels in direct proportion to the particular size of the ask!)
Your desire for purpose, and an outlet for your best work, are crucially important to your wellbeing. The fulfillment of this insanely beautiful work is up to you, if you are willing to lead the proverbial charge.
Not every work or deed I have performed has changed the world in grand and exciting ways. But they are, indeed, works and deeds that represent Divine Love in action.
Leadership from the heart is not about storming the battlefield. It is about asking for your own gorgeous self to step forward in your own life and surrendering to a greater purpose.
